The Enchantments
The Enchantments focuses the visit on granite basins and connected basin system rather than a single social-media.

Artwork inspired by Leo Kenney
The Enchantments are a high alpine basin of granite, larch, lakes, and mountain-goat habitat reached by steep trails from the Icicle Creek area. Core scenery is not close to the trailhead: either approach requires major elevation gain, rough travel, and an arduous return, while overnight use is controlled by a highly competitive permit system.
A day traverse requires a shuttle and exceptional fitness; an out-and-back still demands a conservative turnaround. Carry navigation, water treatment, insulation, and food, and protect goats by never feeding them or leaving salty gear unattended. Camp only under the correct permit and use durable rock rather than fragile lakeshore vegetation.
