Princeton University Art Museum
The rebuilt museum puts centuries of art into a free, walkable Princeton campus visit.

Artwork inspired by Ben Shahn
The Princeton University Art Museum opened its new campus building in 2025, with interlocking pavilions and artwalks replacing the older space. Its collections span cultures and millennia. Pair an ancient object with a modern work and ask how each handles material, power, memory, or belief.
Free admission makes a focused return as sensible as a marathon. The galleries sit within a university: walk through the building, notice how art and campus circulation meet, and leave time for the outdoor setting. Late Thursday and Friday hours allow an evening visit. The separate Art@Bainbridge venue is not the new main museum.
