Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
A combined zoo and aquarium pairs Pacific marine ecosystems with terrestrial wildlife, keeper talks, and conservation work inside Point Defiance Park.

Artwork inspired by Marvin Oliver
Point Defiance joins a zoo and two aquariums on one compact campus. Rocky Shores and the Pacific Seas Aquarium connect seals, sea lions, sea otters, seabirds, sharks, jellies, and Northwest waters, while terrestrial areas range from red wolves and Arctic animals to Asian forest species. The useful thread is habitat and conservation, not the number of animals seen.
Check the day’s keeper-talk schedule before choosing a route, then revisit one habitat at a different time instead of racing between every sign. Animal visibility changes with weather, care, and individual choice; an empty exhibit is not a promise broken. Parking is free, but daytime tickets, special events, and upgraded experiences follow separate terms.
