Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park
Wander a Gold Coast estate where horticulture frames a historic house.

Artwork inspired by Robert Winthrop Chanler
Planting Fields brings together a former Gold Coast estate, two greenhouses, gardens, woodland paths, and Coe Hall on roughly 409 acres. Its appeal lies in the change of scale: broad lawns and mature trees give way to smaller seasonal collections, then to the Tudor Revival house.
Plan the grounds as one visit and Coe Hall or greenhouses as separate, schedule-dependent stops. The park generally opens daily 9 AM–5 PM, while greenhouse and house hours are shorter and may exclude some days. Vehicle parking has a fee; house tours and special programs may cost extra. If a particular bloom or interior matters, verify its status on the official site before leaving.
