Pine Creek Rail Trail
Follow Pine Creek on a gentle rail grade between canyon walls and forest.

Artwork inspired by Edward Redfield
Pine Creek Rail Trail carries a former railway through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon region, giving cyclists and walkers a river-level perspective very different from the rim overlooks. The long corridor runs from near Wellsboro toward Jersey Shore, with access points that allow anything from an hour's walk to a substantial ride.
Darling Run is the mapped northern access point, useful for entering the gorge without pretending the whole route has one address. The trail's gradual grade does not eliminate mileage: set a turnaround before you have gone too far downstream. Bring water, watch for bicycles on shared sections, and use state forest maps to identify facilities and seasonal closures.
