Pérez Art Museum Miami
Art of the Americas, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora fills shaded terraces beneath Herzog & de Meuron’s hanging gardens.

Artwork inspired by Carlos Alfonzo
Pérez Art Museum Miami presents the city as an active meeting point within the Americas, Caribbean, and African diaspora. Across painting, photography, sculpture, and installation, the collection links migration, colonial history, ecology, popular culture, and urban change, allowing Miami’s experience to illuminate broader hemispheric forces rather than serve merely as scenery.
Herzog & de Meuron’s building deserves attention as part of that argument. Broad eaves, suspended planting, shaded transitions, and repeated views of Biscayne Bay respond visibly to the subtropical setting. Move between galleries and terraces instead of completing the interior in one sweep; those pauses reveal how climate, landscape, and art shape one another.

PAMM and Frost Science share Maurice A. Ferré Park but require separate tickets. A combined day works only if you choose highlights rather than attempting both institutions exhaustively.
