Museum of Glass
Museum of Glass focuses the visit on studio glass as live process rather than finished and Hot Shop demonstrations and Chihuly Bridge of Glass.

Artwork inspired by Patti Warashina
Museum of Glass is currently a live-making visit rather than a normal gallery visit. During the capital project, all traditional galleries are closed; the Hot Shop, Education Studio, café, store, and smaller Grand Hall displays remain available. Watch a piece move from furnace to bench to annealer, paying attention to how the team divides heat, timing, and physical labor.
The conical Hot Shop makes process visible at architectural scale, while the Bridge of Glass carries Dale Chihuly installations into the public route toward downtown Tacoma. Compare the controlled choreography inside with the way color and reflection shift outdoors; the two settings explain why studio glass is both performance and finished object.
Construction can restrict gallery access even while the Hot Shop remains active. Check the museum’s construction update and live Hot Shop schedule before traveling, and do not assume that a demonstration ticket includes every exhibition gallery.

Renovation can leave the Hot Shop, Education Studio, café, store, and small displays open while traditional galleries are unavailable. Confirm the active gallery inventory before buying; the Hot Shop schedule is independent from general admission.
