Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience
The MAX connects music, writing, dance, visual art, theater, film, foodways, and craft through the Mississippians who carried them outward.

Artwork inspired by Andrew Bucci
The MAX is broader than a music museum. Hall-of-Fame stories and interactive stations move among performance, literature, visual art, food, design, and media, showing how Mississippi places and communities shaped careers. The best route follows a discipline you know into one you do not, looking for shared networks of church, school, radio, migration, apprenticeship, and patronage.
Hands-on recording and production experiences can dominate family attention, so protect time for original objects and quieter biographies. The museum also functions as an education and event center, which means galleries, studios, and live programming do not always share identical access. Check the daily calendar if a particular workshop, performance, or inductee is the reason for your trip.

Good to know
The museum’s event and education work can change which studios or galleries are available on a given day. Interactive areas become noisy with groups, and a Hall of Fame name does not guarantee that specific objects are permanently displayed.
