Ludington State Park
Lake Michigan beach, Hamlin Lake, Big Sable River, dunes, wetlands, forest trails, camping, and Big Sable Point Lighthouse create several distinct water landscapes.

Artwork inspired by Carlos Lopez
Currents and waves make the big lake behave unlike Hamlin Lake or the shallow river. Dunes and wetlands connect them, while the lighthouse records navigation across a shoreline that continually shifts under wind and sand.
Choose a water body first, then add a trail or lighthouse walk suited to weather. The narrow entrance road and popular campground create severe summer congestion; parking near one district does not shorten every route.
