Lower Calf Creek Falls Trail
A sandy route follows perennial Calf Creek past beaver habitat, granaries, and pictographs to a cool alcove and high waterfall.

Artwork inspired by Everett Ruess
The trail follows Calf Creek for roughly three miles each way through sand, sun, riparian shade, and repeated bends. An interpretive brochure identifies granaries and distant pictographs, making the route an ecological and cultural corridor rather than merely an approach to the waterfall.
Carry water despite the creek, protect the archaeological features by viewing from the trail, and expect the sandy return to feel longer. The plunge pool is cold and rockfall can occur near the alcove; lingering under cliffs is not risk-free.
