Liberty Science Center
Experiment across hands-on science halls in Liberty State Park, then choose a planetarium show deliberately.

Artwork inspired by Jacob Lawrence
Liberty Science Center is a hands-on science museum in Liberty State Park, not simply a planetarium stop. Its large exhibition halls invite testing ideas with your own hands: choose one subject you can investigate slowly, then cross to a contrasting theme instead of attempting every installation. The setting makes the visit distinctive, with the Hudson waterfront and New York skyline just outside.
The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and theater programs depend on the day's schedule; do not assume a show is running or included in basic admission. On busy family days, arrive with one must-see exhibition and allow time to experiment. Repeating an activity, comparing results, and talking through a surprising outcome can be more rewarding than counting galleries.
