Lehigh Gorge State Park
Ride or walk the Lehigh Gorge Trail between wooded cliffs and the river.

Artwork inspired by Daniel Garber
This long, narrow state park follows the Lehigh River through a steep gorge from the White Haven area toward Jim Thorpe. Its rail-grade path carries a segment of the D&L Trail, making a bicycle ride or out-and-back walk the easiest way to experience the river. Rapids, old canal traces, and changing forest color give the corridor its character.
The mapped point is White Haven South Access, a practical northern start rather than the entire gorge. Rockport and Glen Onoko offer other entries, but trip distances and shuttle needs change accordingly. Do not plan a Glen Onoko Falls climb from an old blog: that steep trail has been closed for rehabilitation, so check DCNR's current status.
