Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden

A free, intimate memorial garden pairs formal outdoor rooms with fountains, Tom Corbin bronzes, clipped structure, and displays replanted at least four times a year.

Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden

Artwork inspired by Edmund Wuerpel

Opened in 2000, the Kauffman Memorial Garden compresses a European-inspired sequence into a city block: brick walks, stone walls, fountains, tightly pruned foliage, perennial beds, and Tom Corbin sculptures. It is both a public garden and the final resting place of Ewing and Muriel Kauffman, so the atmosphere is intentionally contemplative.

Walk one uninterrupted circuit to understand the axes and enclosed rooms, then reverse direction to study how temporary planting works against the permanent structure. Because annual displays change at least four times a year, a focused 30-minute return in another season reveals more than stretching one visit into an afternoon.
