A major paleontology hall, mineral collection, Texas wildlife, chemistry, energy, astronomy, and a butterfly center make route discipline more valuable than total coverage.

Artwork inspired by Kermit Oliver
The paleontology hall is organized around predation and ecological interaction rather than a simple march through time. Use it to ask how skeleton pose, trackways, teeth, and surrounding species support a behavioral claim. Then connect extinction and environmental change to the Texas wildlife and Earth-science displays instead of treating dinosaurs as a sealed spectacular world.
The gem and mineral hall rewards different looking: Crystal structure, chemistry, formation, and cutting all matter. Premium experiences—the planetarium, giant-screen theater, and butterfly center—can each consume a time block, so select one. The butterfly habitat is living animal care, not decoration; respect temperature, doors, and staff instructions.
