Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site

Tour Springwood as a lived-in Hudson Valley home, then understand the decisions made from it.

Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site

Artwork inspired by Charles Sheeler

Springwood was Franklin D. Roosevelt's family home, working retreat, and political meeting place. A ranger-led tour enters the house; outside, the grounds connect burial sites, gardens, and Hudson Valley views. Look for the tension between private routines and national leadership. The home tour is separate from the neighboring FDR Presidential Library and Museum.

Start at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor Center for a first-come house-tour ticket. Guided entry costs $15 for visitors 16 and older; younger children enter free. Tour departures change seasonally, and popular dates can fill early. Grounds are open longer than the house. If you want both home and library, allow time and budget for separate admission.
