Henry Hudson Trail
A shared Monmouth County corridor includes a striking Sandy Hook Bay segment to Popamora Point.

Artwork inspired by John Marin
Henry Hudson Trail is a network of rail-trail and bayshore segments, not one continuous waterfront promenade. The Popamora Point section makes a particularly clear first visit: water, shore communities, and the hills behind Atlantic Highlands stay in view as the path runs toward the marina. A short return walk can be rewarding without attempting the full county route.
Check the county map carefully because on-street connections interrupt some sections. Cyclists and walkers share the path, while shoreline weather can feel very different from inland trail conditions. Popamora Point has a named parking area and restrooms; it is a practical arrival anchor rather than a claim that the entire trail begins there.
