GRAMMY Museum Mississippi
Instruments, stage wear, recorded voices, songwriting stations, and performance technology show how an unusually musical state shaped global popular culture.

Artwork inspired by Sam Gilliam
The museum is strongest when visitors treat interactivity as analysis rather than novelty. Mixing, drumming, singing, and songwriting stations reveal how timing, arrangement, recording, and performance choices produce a track. Objects and interviews then connect those choices to Mississippi’s blues, gospel, country, rock, soul, and hip-hop lineages.
Mississippi’s influence is disproportionate, but the galleries also explain the national GRAMMY process and traveling exhibitions. Begin with the state map and artist stories before entering the loudest interactives; crowded school groups can make listening stations difficult. Temporary shows change the balance of genres, so visitors pursuing one artist should confirm what is actually installed.

Good to know
Interactive stations can be acoustically competitive when school groups arrive. Walk-up admission is allowed, same-day re-entry is permitted, and tickets may be rescheduled but not refunded. Public-program tickets do not include museum exhibits unless the event specifically says so. The online form omits the published military discount, so arrange that rate with the box office.
