Devil’s Icebox Trail
A compact boardwalk loop crossing a natural rock bridge to cold cave air, sinkholes, a spring, and an underground stream.

Artwork inspired by Frederick Oakes Sylvester
This roughly half-mile interpretive trail provides the clearest first look at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park. It crosses the natural tunnel, loops by Devil’s Icebox sinkhole and spring, and reveals how surface water and collapsed cave passages shape karst terrain.
It is short but not a polished indoor attraction: boards and rock can be slick, stairs and grades matter, and flooding can close access. Devil’s Icebox Cave itself is protected; obey gates and current signs rather than following old trip reports.
