Desert Botanical Garden
Five thematic trails connect Sonoran Desert ecology, global succulent diversity, conservation research, seasonal bloom, art, and practical water-wise design.

Artwork inspired by Dyana Hesson
The garden’s strength is comparison: saguaros and agaves become easier to understand beside relatives from other dry regions, while Sonoran Desert trails explain pollination, nurse plants, water storage, and temperature management. Labels and demonstration gardens turn dramatic forms into usable ecological knowledge.
Phoenix heat changes the visit completely. Reserve a morning or evening time, carry water even when cafés are open, and check seasonal closures. Special light shows may use separate tickets and offer less plant interpretation than daylight hours.
