Bluespring Caverns
A guided boat enters a dark limestone river system where blind fish, pale crayfish, low ceilings, and immense silence make cave hydrology the central experience.

Artwork inspired by Felrath Hines
Bluespring’s public tour travels by boat along a substantial underground river. Water dissolved and carried limestone through a branching system whose level responds to weather, and darkness supports specialized animals including blind fish and crayfish. The experience is less ornament-heavy than many show caves; its force comes from scale, sound, hydrology, and the realization that most of the passage continues beyond ordinary view.
Tours depend on water conditions, so heavy rain or unusual levels can alter operations. Bring a warm layer, protect loose items, and listen to boarding instructions because the route begins with a descent and boat transfer. Darkness adaptation improves what you notice: reflected ceiling, current, sediment, and animal movement. Do not expect a dry walking tour or touchable formations.
