Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of New Jersey

Aircraft, engines, and New Jersey aviation stories sit beside the runways at Teterboro.

Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of New Jersey

Artwork inspired by John Marin

Teterboro is not merely a backdrop to this museum: its active airport makes the engineering and risk of flight immediate. The Aviation Hall of Fame pairs aircraft and equipment with people whose work pushed New Jersey aviation forward. Look beyond an airframe’s outline to its engine, controls, and the practical compromises that distinguish a machine built for one kind of mission from another.

Indoor exhibits are complemented by outdoor pieces, and occasional open-cockpit days change what visitors can touch or enter. Those events carry their own ticket terms; a normal visit does not promise cockpit access. The museum is compact enough to spend time on individual stories rather than rushing between planes.

Quick guide

Compare engines
Find what changes when an aircraft’s job changes.
Mind event rules
Open-cockpit access belongs to selected special days.

Know before you go

Begin with a person
Use a Hall of Fame story to anchor the machinery.
Read a cockpit
Controls reveal the pilot’s work as much as the aircraft’s size.
Look outside
Outdoor pieces change scale from the indoor cases.
Check event status
A cockpit advertised for an event is not always open on ordinary days.

Good to know

The museum’s regular ticket does not guarantee entry into aircraft. Outdoor exhibits are weather exposed, and open-cockpit days may have different admission rules.
