American Independence Center
The Ladd-Gilman house, original documents, furniture, and community programs connect national independence to Exeter’s political networks.
Artwork inspired by Dublin Art Colony
A rare Dunlap Broadside gives the Revolution a material address. The Ladd-Gilman house, original documents, furniture, and community programs connect national independence to Exeter’s political networks. Rather than relying on one headline feature, the experience gains depth from the contrast among Dunlap Broadside, Ladd-Gilman House, and Folsom Tavern.
Begin with the broadside, then trace how news, signatures, and households carried revolution outward. Historic-house tours and document display schedules are seasonal; fragile originals may rotate. Visitors who include Folsom Tavern gain a fuller sense of place than those who stop after seeing only Dunlap Broadside. At American Independence Center, that means organizing the visit around Dunlap Broadside and Folsom Tavern, not a checklist of disconnected stops.
