Polar bear, Amur tiger, musk ox, wolves, moose, birds, and rescued wildlife occupy a wooded hillside rather than a formal urban promenade.
Artwork inspired by Fred Machetanz
Northern animals live along forest trails shaped by Anchorage seasons. Polar bear, Amur tiger, musk ox, wolves, moose, birds, and rescued wildlife occupy a wooded hillside rather than a formal urban promenade. Winter changes animal behavior and visitor experience enough to justify a return.
Choose two scheduled keeper programs, then leave time to revisit a cold-adapted species when it becomes active instead of racing the whole loop. Gravel grades and snow affect mobility; summer feeding experiences and winter light events use separate schedules and charges. The essential insight sits in the relationship between polar bear and boreal trail loop, not in collecting a single perfect photograph.
