Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake
Explore boats, logging, art, and everyday life across an open-air museum above Blue Mountain Lake.

Artwork inspired by Harold Weston
Adirondack Experience spreads more than 20 exhibition buildings over a sloping campus above Blue Mountain Lake. Its guideboats, logging equipment, cabins, art, and hands-on exhibits explain how people traveled, worked, protected, and sometimes transformed this vast region. Start with the large regional-history exhibition, then choose a trail through boat and outdoor collections; the landscape between buildings is part of the story.
This is a seasonal museum, generally open daily from late May to mid-October, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., not a year-round indoor stop. Tickets currently start at $22 online for adults, with lower youth and senior rates. The hillside has grades and weather exposure, so wear walking shoes and ask about accessible routes or transport if the slope is a concern.

Good to know
The museum's old name was Adirondack Museum. It is a large outdoor campus, not a single gallery, and seasonal closure means an online map pin alone is not enough to plan a visit.
