Homestyle Glazed Meatloaf
Classic meatloaf with beef, pork, milk-soaked breadcrumbs, softened aromatics, Worcestershire, parsley, and a tangy ketchup glaze.

Ingredients
Meatloaf
- 2 lb ground beef, 80 percent lean
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
Glaze
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
To Serve
- 1/4 cup ketchup, optional, warmed
Directions
Make and Shape the Meatloaf
- Heat the oven to 350F. Soak breadcrumbs in milk for 10 minutes.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until soft and lightly golden, 6-8 minutes. Add garlic and thyme and cook 1 minute. Cool for 10 minutes.
- Mix beef, pork, soaked breadcrumbs, eggs, onion mixture, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and parsley gently until just combined.
- Shape into a loose loaf about 9 x 5 inches on a parchment-lined sheet pan.
Glaze and Bake
- Mix ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush half over the loaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, brush with the remaining glaze, and continue baking until the center reaches 158-160F, 20-30 minutes more.
Rest and Serve
- Rest for 15 minutes before slicing. Warm serving ketchup and serve alongside if desired.
