Dill Pickle Tuna Salad
Flaky tuna folded with crisp dill pickles, celery, herbs, and a tangy pickle-brine dressing for a cool, savory crunch.

- 2 (5 oz) cans, drained very well
- 1/3 cup, finely diced
- 1/3 cup, finely diced
- 1/4 cup
- 1 tbsp
- 1 tsp
- 1 tbsp, fresh and chopped
- 2 scallions, thinly sliced
- 1/8 tsp, freshly ground, plus more to taste

- Press excess water from tuna in water so the flakes are as dry as possible.
- In a medium bowl, stir together mayonnaise, dill pickle brine, dijon mustard, dill, and black pepper.
- Fold in the drained tuna, dill pickles, celery, and scallions without mashing the fish into a paste.
- Rest the salad for 5 minutes, then taste and adjust with a small splash of dill pickle brine or additional black pepper as needed.
- Serve on toast, in lettuce cups, or with crackers. Extra salt is usually unnecessary.
