Arnold Palmer
Equal parts brisk unsweetened black tea and freshly squeezed lemonade make the classic half-and-half, balanced so neither tannin nor citrus syrup dominates.

8 servings · 12 minutes prep · 5 minutes cook
Ingredients
Iced Tea
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags
Fresh Lemonade
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 cups water, divided
To Serve
- 4 cups ice cubes
- 8 lemon wedges, optional
Directions
Prepare the Tea
- Bring 2 cups of the first water to a boil, remove from the heat, and steep the black tea bags for 5 minutes. Lift out without squeezing, add the remaining 2 cups cold water, then top up with additional cold water only if needed to bring the tea to exactly 4 cups; chill.
Build the Lemonade
- Combine the granulated sugar with 1 cup of the second water in a saucepan. Warm just until clear, then cool. Stir in the lemon juice and remaining 2 cups water; chill for at least 45 minutes.
Mix Half-and-Half
- Measure 4 cups chilled tea and 4 cups chilled lemonade into a pitcher and stir; reserve any remaining lemonade to adjust individual glasses. Fill glasses with the ice cubes, pour immediately, and add the lemon wedges if desired.
